The leather-covered faux watch bracelet is one of Natalia Brilli’s signature pieces.
This accessory designer specializing in making leather-covered jewelry and accessories for women and men. Loving the softness, matte look and feel that leather gives to jewelry, Natalia favors using treated lambskin for each of her creations which also gives them that Brilli signature look.
Since launching in 2004, Brilli not only creates jewelry and handbags but now produces other objects like skateboards, helmets, and even domino sets, which are all covered in high quality black leather from France and Italy.
This is taking the love of leather to a whole new level that I like! Maybe we can put the leather pants away for now and give Brilli some touch and feel time!
Whenever you see a Christian Dior or John Galliano fashion show, the makeup gets as much attention as the clothes within the show. You can’t help but wonder, how long it took to get that makeup on and who is the mastermind or maybe the loony behind it?
Pat McGarth, a former textiles student from London, managed to make a career out of all her passions, art, makeup, and fashion without attending one makeup school for formal training. When you love what you do, you don’t mind putting in the time, and Pat should be the poster child for this.
Her usual clients at least twice a year are Viktor & Rolf, Hussein Chalayan, Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana, Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior and Armani. With clients who’s interests varies each year, with each season, it takes a truly talented makeup artist to see the designers’ vision and help tell their stories. No surprise beauty brands like Giorgio Armani, Max Factor, and Cover Girl trust her to develope their cosmetics.
Just like her designer clients, McGarth is always searching for inspiration, and since she is always traveling, everything goes with her, six bags filled with books, photographs, tomes of various subjects. Another six industrial duffel bags are usually loaded with make-up. It’s only right that Pat McGarth, who is the one of the most important woman in fashion, get to travel this way.
It’s been awhile since we’ve seen this adorable monster dancing, prancing and teasing us with snacks.
A love hate relationship is what we had with this creature until some months ago when he went missing from our television sets. No new commercials featuring him, we wondered if we would ever see this cute, orange monster again.
Unfortunately I found the remains of our furry friend.
I came across this shoe line,Capelta and couldn’t get off their website. Why would they create various looks that makes a woman look like a love child from Big Foot. From the website, it looks as though they made such an effort to take fashionable photos, get all of their press coverage posted, and celebrities to wear their …boots. My only question is why didn’t they focus more on making something most of us can wear, instead of use the boots to clean to floor with. Check out the website yourself. www.capelta.com
Only McQueen will have me love shoes like this. Not wearable for me but great to have a pair displayed in my place. Will be a wonderful conversation piece along with my art pieces on the walls. Stay tuned for more.
NYC is where the trends start, we’re suppose to give London, Milan and Paris reasons to get nervous and revamp their fashion collections because This City sets the bar high. I know we’re feeling the recession in NYC, but isn’t that a reason to step up and create pieces that will make us WANT to buy a dress that $500?
Somehow New York based designers got lazy and gave us safe pieces that really didn’t have any “double take” factor to them. Bright colors could barely be found and designers were being selfish with prints and daring silhouettes. The bar was put down, giving London the responsibility of pushing it back up.
It started with Duro Olowu and Erdem who hits you with prints and bright colors with makes you wish that you could buy their pieces now. My fashion high started and seeing Burberry Prorsum’s collection just made it tough to stop looking. Draping a trench, “what the…”, my fashion brethren, you know what that is?! New York was quickly forgotten and London’s designers showed us that their sleepy city should not be taken for granted.
Before the end of this week, we’ll see if Milan will keep this spring fix going and if Paris will finalize the trends we should look forward to.
